Couples Therapy

Attachment-Focused Trauma Therapy
Trauma therapy that addresses not just what happened to you, but how it shaped the way you connect, trust, and love. Using EMDR, Brainspotting, Progressive Counting, and AEDP.
Relationship Intensives
Extended, focused sessions for couples who want to make significant progress in a short time. Multi-hour and multi-day formats available. Ideal for couples in crisis or those wanting to go deeper, faster.
Shame & Relational Healing
Specialized work for those carrying deep shame that blocks connection. Whether it shows up as withdrawal, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or rage—we work with where shame lives in your body and relationships.
Our Approach
Therapy at The Attachment Laboratory is not about fixing what is broken. It is about building what was never built—or rebuilding what was damaged—in the way you connect with yourself and others.
We use evidence-based modalities integrated through the Attachment Moments framework. That means every session is oriented toward the same goal: creating the relational experiences that build security.
Joe McKinney, LCSW, brings training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, EMDR, Progressive Counting, Brainspotting, AEDP, and trauma-informed yoga. Each client receives a tailored approach based on their unique story and needs.
